Samsung Galaxy Gio is a new Samsung Galaxy series cell phone. It is unclear why Samsung has chosen to call the new Galaxy series Android phone ‘Gio’, which means jewel in Italian. Although, the smartphone is packed with a wide array of high-end features, Samsung Galaxy Gio is neither one of the best Samsung smartphones nor does it flaunt a jewel-like styling. Nonetheless, Samsung Galaxy Gio is a smartphone with features that most Android phone enthusiasts could not ignore.
Samsung Galaxy Gio features
Galaxy Gio has a 110.5mm long, 57.5mm wide and 12.15mm thick black body. The 3.2-inch, 320×480 pixel resolution HVGA TFT screen displays vivid images. The 800MHz processor paired with Android 2.2 Froyo operating system would enhance the performance of the Samsung Galaxy series smartphone. The robust processing speed will support fast web browsing and speedy data transfer. The built-in Swype keyboard software will help users to type messages conveniently on the virtual keyboard. Samsung Galaxy Gio features multiple customizable home screens.

It might be quite difficult for shutterbugs to boast of their brilliant photography skills with Gio’s standard 3-megapixel camera equipped with auto focus, smile shot, single shot, continuous shot and panorama shot. Videos recorded with the video recorder are suitable only for MMS.

Samsung Galaxy Gio offers only 150MB of on board storage space. For additional storage, you have to rely on external memory expansion. Galaxy Gio supports up to 32GB of memory expansion. A 2GB memory card will be shipped with the handset. For music lover, Samsung has loaded the Galaxy Gio handset with MP3 music player, speaker and 3.5mm audio jack. Galaxy Gio also features FM radio with RDS.
